MATTHIASSON was put on the map by our Red Wine and White Wine, and they are the core of what we do. The Red and the White are, year in and year out, our ode to the idea of what a “perfect wine” should be. We strive for impeccable balance and absolute consistency.
At the same time, experimentation has always been a way of life for MATTHIASSON. Some of our most interesting work has been making tiny amounts of what we call “passion wines.” With unusual varieties and/or uncommon winemaking techniques, we’re always exploring the world of winemaking. Skin-fermented Ribolla gialla, low alcohol Cabernet franc, Refosco, whole cluster-pressed Syrah, botrysized Flora dessert wine, rich aged Chardonnay that has never seen new oak…these are some of the wines we want to share with you as well.
